DIGITAL REWARDS UPDATE!

Hi all,

Oops, I forgot to mention the DIGITAL COPIES yesterday, so to answer everyone's questions:

  • The Digital versions will be sent out at the same time as the physical copies (week of 8/3)
  • At that time, you will receive an email from backerkit with a link to download the files
  • Everyone who ordered a physical book will also receive a corresponding  digital version

PALOMINO penultimate update

This is getting real, folks.

We should be receiving the books sometime next week, and we'll start shipping them Monday 8/3. Meanwhile, we will get a head start on shipping the other items in the coming days. That includes prints and T-shirts. So if you have moved since the campaign and didn't notify us, this is the time to update your address before we lock the addresses for shipping this Friday night (7/24).

Cover update: While finalizing prepress with the printer a few weeks ago, it became clear that the cover art--although a really cool image--was a little too dark to really work as a cover, so I repainted it slightly differently. Artistically speaking, I dig both versions, so if you ordered a print of the cover art, you will receive both versions of the print at no extra charge :)

I will conclude with a few cool pix of all that stuff in progress, but before, since there is a good chance that you are a noir fan, I will leave you with 2 recommendations for 2 awesome graphic novel projects by friends of mine (that I am not affiliated with in anyway), now running on Kickstarter.

1) Noir Is The New Black, A collection of Noir stories by Black creators published by my friend Fabrice Sapolsky's new imprint Fair & Square Comics. These prints are looking cool!
New version of the painting focuses more on the characters and will read a little easier when sitting on a rack in a comic shop!
The first version was fun in its own way, though, so if you ordered the cover art, you will be receiving both versions of the print.

Getting Ready for Fulfillment

Hey all, just a little weekend update:

All  files are now with the printer, and  presses are about to roll, so we are turning our attention to fulfillment in earnest.

  • If you have already filled out your survey and selected add-ons or made additional pre-orders, we will start locking those orders on Monday morning, and your card will be charged for those items at that time.
  • If you are one of the few backers who haven't answered your survey yet, please do so at your earliest convenience so we can get you squared away!

Backerkit surveys are coming.

Dear backers,

Thank you so much for backing Palomino. Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards. Here's a few FAQs: 

  •  Q: When exactly am I receiving my survey-link email? 
  • A: Backerkit will send the survey to just 5% of backers today, as to "smoke out" any bump in the system. If this is you, please answer them asap, so we can proceed with everyone else in a day or two.
  • Q: Do I need to create an account or sign up for anything?
  • A: Nope. You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!
  • Q: Can I change my answers after submitting my survey?
  •  A: After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts. If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://palomino.backerkit.com.
  • At which email address will I receive my survey?
  • If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact support at https://palomino.backerkit.com/faq.
  • Are my physical books coming with digital versions?
  • Yes, each physical book comes with its corresponding digital version. In fact, the survey will ask you to pick your digital version first, then the physical.
